Adsense Tips for Beginners - part 1

How Advertisers Pay You!

Google makes a lot of money - we all know that. And a lot of its income comes by letting website owners advertise on Google search result pages. You may know that as Adwords and you may also know that Google earn a lot from it.

Well, Google are willing to share some of that income with you. All you have to do is place some of those same ads on your website. So you help Google to advertise other people's websites and you get a slice of the action for it.

Welcome to AdSense.

In recent years Adsense income has made a lot of people a lot of money. Things are a little tougher now, but it's still money sitting there waiting to be picked up - and you could be one of the ones picking up a paycheck from Google on a regular basis. If you don't actually sell anything on your site - if it's for information purposes only, you can still make some money with AdSense. How much you make depends on a number of factors that we'll get into later.

So what can you realistically expect to earn?

Well, first thing I have to do is tell you that it probably won't be millions. It may not even be thousands of dollars. Many people just make a small amount from Adsense - just a few dollars a day. But if you make $5 a day that's $150 a month - not enough to buy a house, but enough for most people to feel the difference in their pocket.

And because it's 'passive income' it's better in your pocket than not, right? Passive income just means you don't have to keep working for it - you set it up once and the money keeps rolling in.

Think about this: if one small site could earn you $150 a month ($1,800 a year), what about if you had 10 such small sites, all running pretty much on auto-pilot? You could earn $18,000 a year just by earning $5 a day on each one.

Adsense is so popular that many people build websites specially to put the Adsense adverts on them.

Don't get me wrong - this is not 'easy money'. You have to do something to get it up and running, but a lot of people are already doing that work and making nothing.

If you have a website that is currently sitting there earning you nothing, you could do worse than signing up for Adsense and putting the special code on your pages. Getting approved for Adsense takes up to a couple of days, but once you're approved for one website you can put the ads on any of your websites in the future.

If you built one small website a week then a year from now you could be seeing income from 52 Adsense enabled websites. If each one made just $1 a day that's nearly $2,000 a year in passive income. And if each site made only $5 a day (very doable) then you'd be looking at a passive income of ......... $94,900 a year.

Big money is possible with Adsense, even now, but you need more than one website to reach it.

If the idea of building websites is a bit scary, don't worry. You can buy ready made Adsense websites - you can even get some for free! All you have to do is upload them to your webspace and "instant Adsense website".
